Details:
- Flying from Liepaja to Ventspils they ran into unexpected fog.
They were forced to land on the water in poor visibility, and both
aircraft crashed.
- The airmen survived, but had to remain in the cold March waters for
about an hour before being rescued by fishermen. They brought them ashore
and a few days later the minelayer "Varonis" was dispatched to collect
the airmen and the remains of their aircraft.
